Hooked and wanting more!

"Her Own Devices" is the follow up novel to "Lady of Devices". Lady Claire is a fascinating woman who overcomes her upbringing, financial disaster and social restraints to find her own form of independence using the powers of her intellect and inventiveness.

I could not put this down once I had started it. The action keeps moving, the dialogue is sharp and enjoyable (I kept laughing out loud at Lady Claire's arguments) and Adina's Victorian London is rich and well made.

My only regret is that I now have to wait for the next installation in the series.

Couldn't Inhale 2nd installment fast enough

Read the first book and upon finishing the last word immediately switched to shop Kindle store and got this second book. These books are everything that's right about steampunk: fiesty, smart, independent [in this case female] main character, dire circumstances overcome by pluck, courageous actions backed with cleverness and a strong moral compass. The entire cast of characters are richly drawn and have individual voices. Great series. Only downside is we now have to wait for the third installment in what I hope is a long-lived series.

More action than the first

Things speed up in the second book of Shelly Adina's series - more action, more tension in the romantic relationships.

What I liked:
* Faster pace
* Increased character development. Book has plenty of characters, and Adina does a good job of developing all of them enough to be unique and enjoyable
* Gadgetry and science continues to be creative and fun

What I didn't like:
* Another abrupt ending, leaving book feeling unfinished to me. If you're going to read this series, you'll want the next book available when you finish each of them.

Would I recommend? If you liked the first, you'll like this one.

Just buy this

I needed a book that covered fundamental background information behind mathematical proof techniques for an undergraduate univeristy level linear algebra class.
With this book, I was able to truly learn and understand the major concepts behind mathematical logic and proof. This text brings a whole new meaning to teaching the reader about being precise; and I mean the author does an extremely terrific job of doing just that. Wow!
Seriously, the focus here is on content so you won't find any sexy graphs or anything. The content is so good that I often felt that just by reading it I was propelled into a quasi- pseudo-lecture meeting.
After following this text, I can say that I now appreciate the act of being precise to the point that is required for mathematical proof. If you want to extend the knowledge of your 'white board' then just buy this thing. I am so glad I did.
BTW, I only needed the content from the first five chapters, I can't say much about the rest of the text. However, taking an inductive approach, I must assume that the other chapters are also very excellent. Yess, see it worked!

Volume One features levels ones through four and Volume Two covers levels five through eight. Ice utilization and class concepts are also covered. Each test level includes: - 1 or more repetitions at regular speed and in slow motion - Correct teaching technique and ideal positions - Prerequisite moves in order to teach the step or most difficult position of each of the moves. - Coaching tips. Special Note: It is important to realize that this is an instructional video. The elements in each field move are produced with few or no mistakes. Errors are allowed at each test level, which should not exclude a test from passing. The level and magnitude of the error must always be considered when evaluating a test as a pass or fail.
