"Manhandledwas hot, and I liked both characters being such stark contrasts to one another." -- April, CSI Librarian *** The Cop
Brendan Daly prides himself on being a man's man - in both senses of the word. A Boston cop with a hard body and a Southie's hot temper, Brendan is taken aback when his boyfriend Kent accuses them of letting their love life go stale. So Brendan decides to surprise Kent at his office party with some roleplaying - cop vs. suspect.
The Doc
Fresh out of medical school, handsome Stephen Gallagan is every woman's idea of a catch. Trouble is, he's not sure he wants a woman. Surrounded by predators in cocktail dresses, Stephen flees the party through the service corridor, running smack into Brendan. In the dark, in a tux, Stephen is a dead ringer for Kent.
The Broom Closet
The room is pitch black. Brendan is taller, stronger, and too intent on kissing Stephen to permit any protest. Then metal cuffs snap around Stephen's wrists. Ready or not, it's time to obey...
**This book is a 12,000 word novella.**

Review
"This was a great read! It hit a lot of my kinks and yummy daydreams - in such a delicious way. I grew enamored with Stephen and in lust with Brendan - and their chemistry...off the charts! This is the second book of SA Reid's that I've read (the other book being Something Different that deserves its own shout out!), and my first by Rosemary O'Malley - they too have excellent chemistry with the pen. I hope that they do more collaborations together and I could so go for a Manhandled part 2...I do believe there is a certain ending scene that would be freaking HAWT were it to be written..." -- Havan Fellows, author of Geoff's Teddy

Another Winner
By C Green
This is the third story I have read by this author and each character in each story is totally different, unique, and multi-dimensional. I have gotten used to authors repeating themselves so each time this author has surprised me in a good way. The main character in this story is Brendan, a Boston cop with some anger management issues. In Something Different the main character was a hen pecked editor who finds unexpected freedom with a rent boy. In Protection the main character was a prison bully in the 1940's who develops honor.
The writing is excellent and the details paint a picture. Instead of being told his ex is an ass, this is how the beginning of the end is described with the main character's ex boyfriend. The main character Brendan, walks in and finds his boyfriend "sitting at the kitchen table wearing his you-never-talk-to-me face. Brendan had responded with a scowl of his own - his you-never-****-me face"
Brendan's meeting with Stephan is hot.The characters each have their own insecurities but neither is a push over. I wouldn't call either submissive but they both find some unexpected kinks.
This is a short story. About 1100 locations or 53% of the download. It is completely worth the price. The rest is two teasers for other novels. It sounds like SA Reid will have a full length novel out this summer. It is a Victorian vampire story. The main character is an accidental eunuch after a being castrated in a horse accident. Wow - haven't seen that one before.

disappointing
By Furio
Let us mention only in passing the fact that the story ends by 53% of the length, that the rest is made of previews and that the price is too high.
This is not awful. As it is often the case the idea was quite good, intriguing. The first scene, the near-rape in the broom closet is tight and convincing (if one can believe that a man will not recognize his lover in the darkness).
After that, unfortunately, it all goes out of focus as if it were a summary and not the real thing.
Writing is much less sharp -the hospital scene is particularly painful-, rhythm falters, characterization goes awry.
When the happily ever after arrives nobody really cares anymore.

I actually liked it. I"m not sure I would have thought ...
By UltraMeital
I've read enough reviews of this one to know what I"m getting myself into. I don't think I would have handled it as I did without knowing that this short novella teeters on the verge of consent.. be advised! also it's mostly an Erotica novella though it has a drop of romance in the end.
I actually liked it. I"m not sure I would have thought the same if it was a full length novel. But since it was short and hot I could somewhat appreciate it even if it's not my usual (or actual) taste.
Brendan and Stephan meet for the first time when Brendan pulls his into a broom closet mistaking him for his boyfriend who just complained how dull Brendan is in bed.. wanting to show how adventurous he actually is he plans on a little "play". It takes him time to realize Stephan ISN'T actually Kent.. But Stephan though frightened is HIGHLY aroused by the whole deal. While Stephan hasn't seen Brendan's face Brendan did, he shined a flashlight on him to verify him NOT being Kent.. but as they depart they don't expect to ever see each other again.
Their next accidental meeting takes place about a month later where Stephan gets to play the "hunter" and Brendan the "hunted". I think what made this novella more acceptable is the fact that both Brendan and Stephan are really into this role playing on the verge of consent thing. So when Brendan enjoys being taken by Stephan it somehow builds the way for them to try something more..
There is a little bit more to this novella. I"m not going to say more not to spoiler. I WILL say that though Brendan and Stephan's characters are very different they fit really well and even though Stephan is inexperienced I think for him it worked for the best as he was frightened to even try the first step and here Brendan pushed him to his limit and the arousal did it's "magic".
I SHOULD say I don't really "approve" of most of what happened between the two of them. While I did accept it as something that worked for them and I do realize it's a fiction story I think the authors were walking a thin line to rape which I don't find "entertaining" and I DON"T think should be addressed lightly.
I don't think I would have even given it a try if it wasn't by T. Baggins, as it seems she is making my more "adventurous" in what I read, yet this is still something I'm not really comfortable with and won't be something I delve myself into. A dip here and there but nothing more. Just for the sake of trying out and seeing what I think. Mostly I think "this isn't me" yet I think as a short novella it played out much better than I would have thought.
